Edit a Markdown file
- Press ⌘E to edit like a document (Pro), or ⇧⌘E to edit the Markdown itself.
- Use the toolbar for headings, lists and checklists. ⌘B, ⌘I and ⌘K (link) work too.
- Press ⌘S. You see what will change before anything is saved.
- Parts you didn't touch are saved exactly as they were.
Tip. If an AI changes the file while you're editing, saving is blocked so nothing gets overwritten.
Go back to an earlier version
- Press ⌘K and choose Version history.
- Pick a version and restore it. Free keeps 3 versions per file. Pro keeps 25.
Edit a Word file
- Open a .docx and press ⌘E (Pro).
- Change the words. Use the style menu for Normal, Title, Heading 1 to 4 and Quote, or press ⌥⌘0 to ⌥⌘4.
- Save. Only the paragraphs you changed are updated. Pictures, tables, headers and footers stay as they were.
- A backup is saved first. Find backups with ⌘K, then Show Word backups in Finder.
Tip. On the free plan, choose Edit a copy as Markdown to work on a .md copy instead.
