Paste the path your AI gave you
- Copy the path from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex. Messy is fine: quotes, ~/ at the start, or :142 at the end all work.
- Press ⌘L to jump to the search bar, then ⌘V and Return.
- The file opens as a finished page. If the AI changes it, the page updates by itself.
Tip. A path like /mnt/data/report.md from a browser chat lives on the AI's computer, not yours. Download the file first, then open it.
Find a file from half its name
- Type any part of the name, like launch for launch-plan.md.
- Pick from the list. Names come first, then files that contain your words.
- In search results, choose In open tabs to look only at what's already open.
Latest from your AI
- Go to the welcome screen (click the app icon at the top left).
- Latest from your AI shows the Markdown, Word, text and web files changed on your Mac in the last day, newest first.
- Click a card to open it. It also checks the temporary folder and Claude Code's plans folder, which normal search skips.
Tip. Don't want the list? Click Hide. Bring it back with ⌘K, then Show latest files on the welcome screen.
Open a folder as tabs
- Press ⇧⌘O, or choose Choose a folder on the welcome screen.
- Tick the files you want. The newest are ticked for you. Very large files are flagged and left unticked.
- Tick Include subfolders to look up to three folders down. Build and package folders are skipped.
- Choose Open as tabs. The folder's name sits before its tabs, with × to close them all.
Tip. Free keeps 3 tabs open. Pro keeps up to 10.
Make it your default reader
- On the welcome screen, choose Make this my default .md reader.
- For .txt and .csv files too, press ⌘K and choose Open .txt and .csv files in One Clear Reader.
- You can also drag any file onto the Dock icon, or right-click it in Finder and choose Open With.
